I just received a silver lapel pin for doing 32 volunteer mediations for the LA MVP (volunteer mediation panel) in the last 12 months. The requirement for silver was 25 or more mediations in the last 12 months. This means I have to step up my game to get the gold pin which requires 50 mediations or more in 12 months. In my defense (what kind of mediator would I be if I did not see both sides), I volunteer for several courts and I have a private mediation practice. Oh, and the morning of the ceremony, I was also part of a panel on personal injury mediation and it gave attendees one hour of CLE credit.
